GOD FORSAKEN is a premium action game created by the indie developer insight studio. In this roguelike title, players are thrust into a ruthless world discarded by the Gods, leaving it in ruins and filled with dangers. They must fight and fend off relentless waves of enemies in an ordeal, where only the strongest can survive.

Shunned by the gods

GOD FORSAKEN is set in a land abandoned by the Gods, turning the once-thriving world into a desolate wasteland on the brink of being swallowed entirely by darkness. The coming of the night brings danger to those who wander too far outside as savage monsters roam the expanse, and ancient curses and indescribable evil rise from the depths of the land.

Become the hero by surviving the dangers of the nightfall, full of wandering monsters. Choose from a diverse selection of characters, each possessing distinct abilities to champion the cause of restoring this God-forsaken land’s light of hope. In addition to the savage enemies, the darkness will also chip away at your sanity, so light a torch to illuminate your path and gain bravery in the impending battle.

Collect and equip gear to boost your powers, and invest in a talent-point system, which lets you experiment with various upgrades and abilities. It lets users practice building their chosen character into the most formidable warrior. Discover hidden documents and relics that shed light on the fate of a lost civilization as you explore ancient ruins and mysterious labyrinths scattered throughout the land.

Version 1.0 release

After a stint in Early Access, making various changes and polishing the overall gameplay experience, GOD FORSAKEN welcomes its highly anticipated 1.0 update. It adds two new classes in the form of the Paladin and Assassin for additional combat possibilities, as well as a Pet System so you can now have a companion with you during your runs to help with picking loot and providing additional storage.

Then, there’s the Equipment Forging System to complement the revamped runs and armor sets, and the Fashion System to personalize your character to reflect your personal style. For new players, the Game Guide will help them ease into the game as they’re learning the ropes. The Codex Collection will be handy in keeping track of progress for collecting lore books and discovering other available content.

This major update is rounded out by the introduction of Steam Workshop support for those who would like to mod the game and experiment with different gameplay possibilities, and various other bug fixes to address previous player feedback. However, there are still plenty of lingering issues left, including some clunky animation, translation discrepancies, and balancing tweaks to be made, to name a few.

Not quite there yet

All in all, GOD FORSAKEN is another interesting entry to the action roguelike genre that you can check out. There’s a clear inspiration from the Diablo series here, from the visuals to the available character classes, which some fans will like. While it still has some kinks to sort out, the major 1.0 update offers plenty to get excited about, so give it a try now.
