IGI 2: Covert Strike
Silent shadows and tactical strikes in battlefield
A free-to-play first-person shooter game
Project I.G.I. is a free tactical first-person action shooter that places players in the role of David Llewellyn Jones, a former British Special Air Service operator sent on a dangerous mission. It focuses on realistic weaponry, stealth mechanics, and tense combat situations that reward patience and careful planning instead of reckless action.
Project I.G.I. emphasizes strategy and survival as Jones infiltrates military installations, avoids security systems, and gathers intelligence to stop enemy operations. Rather than relying on overwhelming firepower, players must use reconnaissance, sabotage, and precise movement to complete objectives. Its grounded approach to combat gives the mission a challenging and immersive atmosphere.
Project I.G.I. emphasizes stealth and guile over massive firepower, creating missions that balance tense infiltration with dramatic combat encounters. Jones must sneak through guarded compounds, avoid surveillance cameras, hack computer systems, and scout locations using binoculars before advancing. Since he operates alone, every movement matters, and careless actions can quickly alert enemies. The missions feel large and detailed, yet objectives remain manageable and focused throughout the campaign.
The enemy’s artificial intelligence reacts aggressively to Jones’s actions and attempts to track his position using coordinated military tactics. To survive against bunkers, tanks, and heavily armed guards, Jones uses NATO spy equipment and a strong arsenal of assault weapons. Players can access firearms such as the Glock 17, Desert Eagle, MP5, and Dragunov sniper rifle, while grenades and specialized gadgets add flexibility to both stealth and direct combat situations.
Stealth remains essential, supported by gadgets like night-vision binoculars, a digital compass, and a mission computer that tracks objectives and communications. The environments feel immersive because of their detailed outdoor locations, atmospheric sound design, and convincing weapon effects. Explosions sound powerful, machinery hums realistically, and environmental details help create tension during infiltration. However, its drawback is the lack of a mid-game save option.
Project I.G.I. delivers an immersive tactical shooter experience that prioritizes strategic thinking and stealth over brute force. Although the game can feel punishing because of limited recovery options and unforgiving combat, its realistic approach to weapons, gadgets, and mission design remains engaging. The blend of careful planning, detailed environments, and intense firefights makes it a notable title for players who appreciate challenging and methodical action games.
