Directionless places you in a series of different situations and tries to scare you. It is a six-minute experience with no re-play value. The scenarios and environments you see are not scary--they are only creepy and weird.

Directionless doesn't give you anything to do

The developers of Directionless wanted to demonstrate how they may scare somebody in a virtual reality world. As a result, the user is placed in a series of scary settings for a total of six minutes. It is like watching a poorly drawn horror trailer. There is no plot, and the scenes and environments do not connect in any meaningful way. The graphics are awful and basic, and it is only the music that sets the tone as it is impossible to decipher the tone from one scene to the next if the music is not playing. The video trailer shows you almost all of what you see in the game.

A poor example and a bad game

Directionless offers a poor demonstration of horror methods and techniques. The user quickly experiences effects that cause nausea and are designed to scare. They are only demonstrations because there is very little to do in the game. It is a waste of time and the user’s money. There is no point to what the user sees. If it were demonstrating a trailer to a future game, then that at least would have a point, but it is no different from a PC game developer showing you a bunch of scary pictures and then trying to charge you for it.
