Fearful is a puzzle adventure game where players take on the role of a young child. Players find themselves in a dark nursery and have to perform a series of tasks and solve puzzles in order to get to the bottom of a deep mystery and ultimately make it out alive.

There is a strong feeling of suspense throughout the game, which is enhanced by the rather creepy background music. The jumps come when you least expect them, which is likely to put gamers on the edge of their seat, while the puzzles have been imaginatively created to offer plenty of variety and pose a real challenge, although the controls are often very difficult to get to grips with.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

People who have a love for puzzle games and are really for a good scare are likely to enjoy playing Fearful. This is more of a suspense horror game than the usual jump and repulse and the childlike theme is likely to lull players into a false sense of security. However, it can sometimes be quite hard to work out what players need to do, which is not aided by the fact that the controls are less than smooth.
