Haunt Chaser is a paid cooperative thriller game developed by Clock Wizard Games. Available for multiplayer of four participants or in single-player, you take the role of a Chaser tasked to use all hunting equipment in your arsenal to banish evil and save trapped souls.

Haunt Chaser has action and thriller aspects that are comparable to Pacify or Ghost Hunters Corp, but with better graphics and more means of fighting against corporeal beings. For starters, this game incorporates magic in the form of spells and artifacts, turning the excitement up.

A supernatural fight for survival

In Haunt Chaser–either alone or with friends–you’re tasked with using a variety of items to exorcise evil spirits roaming across the map. This variety ranges from paranormal and pseudo-scientific to straight-up magical items, making the game fun and exciting. There are opportunities where you’re free to choose how to approach an enemy and sometimes, there are particularly suited items for them.

Also, it doesn’t rely much on jump scares. You’ll know if you’re close to the ghost, although once the chase begins, it’s hard to tell and sometimes they creep up behind or beside you. Unlike other games that heavily rely on jump scares, however, this makes it exciting not only because the ghosts are challenging, but also because you get to fight them in almost equal terms.

Unfortunately, the game fails to capitalize on its great weapons and ghosts because every mission, despite the changes in environment design or enemy difficulties, employs the same objectives every time. This makes the game repetitive and in the late game, boring. Once you get how to achieve the objectives, the maps, and even the ghosts no longer matter. Aside from that, it’s an enjoyable experience you can share with friends.

Play alone or with friends

With good graphics and great gameplay mechanics, Haunt Chaser is a ghost hunting and fighting experience best enjoyed with friends. Not only do you have to brave the darkness and locate them, but you also have to cast spells and use weapons to return them from where they came from. While the objectives are repetitive, the environment design and the ghosts are still enough to keep the game playable for hours.
