Tears of Metal is a premium action game for PC developed by Paper Cult. It is a hack-and-slash roguelike set during Medieval times and features fantasy themes. In it, players will go on a grand journey to reclaim their lands from sworn enemies and uncover the secrets of a mysterious creature who instigated the invasion. 

Comparable to games like Risk of Rain 2 or Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Tears of Metal will have players traverse large open maps and face countless waves of enemy troops. It also features co-op gameplay and a selection of heroes to choose from. 

Fight to reclaim your home 

In Tears of Metal, you take charge of a Scottish battalion on a campaign to reclaim your home that was captured by an enemy invasion. Fight your way through a vast island map, with multiple unique locations as battlefields, and push the enemy forces back with each skirmish. Uncover the secrets behind the mysterious Dragon Meteor and its connection to what’s happening. 

The game offers multiple unique heroes to choose from with distinct abilities and play styles. As you level up and progress, obtain powerful upgrades that boost your skills and damage. Collect over a hundred ancient artifacts that augment your powers and change how you play in all kinds of ways. Recruit more soldiers to your battalion and upgrade their skills to aid you in battle. 

You will also build a settlement, which you can upgrade in between battles to unlock additional shops and gear upgrade options. You can even take on special challenges to receive rewards like new artifacts, characters, and even cosmetic items. Now, Tears of Metal is not yet available and no exact release date either. There’s currently an ongoing playtest you can join for a chance to get an early preview. 

Bloody interesting 

All in all, Tears of Metal is shaping up to be an action roguelike to get excited about, with its intense combat gameplay on large-scale battles. Build up your army and take on the enemy invaders to take back your island and etch your name in legend. Keep this one on your radar and check it out when it comes out.
