Gestalt: Steam & Cinder excels in its fluid movement and responsive controls, allowing players to navigate the game with ease. As already mentioned, its combat gameplay features a combination of melee combos and gunplay that keeps players engaged all throughout. The skill tree is also well-designed, offering a variety of abilities that can be unlocked with experience points, enabling players to customize their build according to their preferred playstyle.  

Exploration in Canaan is both rewarding and essential. The vast city is filled with secrets and mysteries waiting to be unraveled. This is also a story-heavy game, which can be a double-edged sword for some players. The narrative is rich and immersive, filled with lore and character interactions that add depth to the steampunk world. However, those who prefer minimal text and a more action-focused experience can find the abundance of dialogue overwhelming. 

Players can achieve 100 percent completion with approximately eight hours of gameplay, which is quite short in comparison to similar other titles in the genre. Additionally, the game’s difficulty level is relatively low. Bosses, which should pose formidable challenges, become progressively easier, often being defeated within seconds. Visually, though, the handcrafted steampunk aesthetic is definitely stunning, allowing players to immerse themselves in the game’s fictional world.
