Swords & Bones 4 is a premium action game for PC from developer SEEP. It's the fourth installment in the series of side-scrolling fantasy action-adventure games inspired by 16-bit classics from the 80s and 90s. Players will delve into dangerous locations in search of a loved one taken by a mysterious demon.

Similar to Blasphemous 2 or The Last Faith, Swords & Bones 4 features retro pixel graphics and is set in a dark fantasy world with multiple distinct environments to explore. This new installment also features a new story from previous releases in the franchise for players to experience.

Of demons and mages

Swords & Bones 4 takes place in a dark fantasy world and centers around an apprentice mage named Ingrid. She embarks on a perilous journey to save her sister, Shaivi, taken by the Shadow Demon. Being a fledging in her craft, she will have to learn spells and abilities along the way that will help her face the various dangers ahead.

The game boasts over 50 levels with distinct environments and will have you face all kinds of monsters, culminating in six epic boss fights. For combat, you have your standard melee attacks complemented by special single damage and area-of-effect(AOE) spells. You also have protective skills that let you turn invisible and put a barrier during situations when you're overwhelmed with enemies, and even a unique floating skill.

Speaking of, there will be platforming challenges you must overcome to progress or solve to receive hero coins for bonus scores, and the latter ability will come in handy. Now, despite the number of levels it offers, Swords & Bones 4 is ultimately a short game. Good thing that there are two possible endings to unlock to encourage a replay.

Another solid release

All in all, if you're a fan of the series, Swords & Bones 4 is yet another great release that you can look forward to.
