A shoot ‘em up with procedurally generated elements
Star of Providence is a premium and single-player top-down action shooter game with procedurally generated levels. Set in an abandoned facility, it lets you explore its various floors, fight enemies along the way, and find new weapons and upgrades as you progress in the game.
Star of Providence works similarly to retro action games like UFO 50 and Monster Hunter Wilds wherein players encounter various foes as well and battle against them. Once you play this game, it comes with its previously paid DLC, Relics of the Past, which you can now access for free.
Explore five floors and unlock two more floors
In Star of Providence, the gameplay mainly revolves around your journey on every floor as you traverse the abandoned facility. Here, players can engage in thrilling battles, facing over 120 enemies. As you explore each floor, loads of bullets keep coming at you. In this game, you can use weapons and upgrades to survive and keep on progressing to other levels.
Using the game’s controls, you can dodge bullets and use 13 different types of weapons with over 50 unique modifiers. Here, each floor consists of its own layouts, traps, and enemies. When it comes to the number of floors, the game has five floors available to players. There are also the sixth and seventh floors, which you need to find out how to unlock.
Moreover, it had a major update, which is the Into Oblivion update. This game update offers two new upgrades, one playable character, and five new enemies. In this update, players can see more new bosses than enemies. At your disposal are also 13 new weapons and hundreds of new room layouts, featuring various new hazards and gimmicks. However, when it comes to storytelling, lore, and world-building, it doesn’t offer any.
Dodge bullets, fight enemies, and overcome traps
Star of Providence is a simple bullet hell action game wherein players can explore each floor, dodge bullets, battle against foes, and avoid traps. Despite it being simple just like other shoot ‘em up games, its procedurally generated gameplay is exciting at some point. It also provides updates from time to time to keep it enticing to gamers. If you like this type of game, it’s a must-try.
