As you explore Somnium Tenebris, you must collect different types of evidence such as whale remains or strange signals, which help you learn more about the creature you're tracking. The game is designed to be both challenging and engaging. You can choose different difficulty levels before each session, which changes how the map is set up and how the creatures behave.  

This allows you to tailor the game's challenge to suit your team's experience level. There are 15 different types of creatures you might encounter, each adding to the sense of danger and urgency. As you succeed in your missions, you earn currency that can be used to customize your appearance in the game, giving a sense of progression and achievement. 

It also offers flexible multiplayer options. You can either join an open game with other players online or set up a private game with your friends. The game emphasizes teamwork and strategy, requiring you to work closely with your team members to survive the horrors of the deep sea. However, the complexity of the game mechanics and the need for teamwork can be overwhelming for new players.
