ABRISS DEMO is a simulation game developed by Randwerk for PC. This physics simulator is an atmospheric destruction building game featuring a futuristic world and surreal cities. In it, players can build structures from broken parts and have them crash into various targets in a spectacular fashion.

Similar to Demolition Company or CastleStorm, destruction is the name of the game in ABRISS DEMO. What makes it stand out is its futuristic setting and distinct physics and animation style. It makes the whole experience of playing it far more surreal and mesmerizing.

How is it played?

ABRISS DEMO revolves around a simple principle, in order to destroy, you must first build. While that might seem counterintuitive at first, you get to understand and appreciate its unique premise once you start playing it. Delving deeper, you build moving structures that you will then use to destroy other buildings on each level. It enables a nice level of freedom with regard to how you go about wreaking havoc.

You can create a simple structure. More interestingly, you can equip your creations with attachments or build them with varying levels of complexity. You can place lasers on them for more precise destruction or you could implement multiple moving parts like a rotating mechanism or connecting links to extend their reach and area of effect. You are essentially limited by your imagination here.

As its name suggests, though, this version of the game is still just a demo. It's still in active development, with more changes and bug fixes to the core game mechanics to be introduced in future updates. The developer is eyeing official release any time during the first half of 2022, though. Hopefully, that estimate becomes true, or maybe even sooner.

A surreal and cathartic experience

The experience you will have while playing ABRISS DEMO is quite difficult to put into words. Despite the destructive nature of its gameplay, there is a certain sense of catharsis to be felt in all the chaos and havoc that you will be wreaking. It looks great, its physics and animation are fluid, and you are free to tackle each obstacle in any way you want. Highly recommended.
