Free squad-based FPS with hero abilities
SHRAPNEL is a free action game developed and published by Neon Machine. It is a PVP and first-person shooter where two teams of four players fight over a powerful resource called Sigma. The game is built around strategy and coordination, and players must work together to outsmart the opposing team.
Players also take on the role of one of the distinct Operators in SHRAPNEL, each equipped with unique perks and abilities that fit their playstyle and roles. This system encourages adaptability, allowing you to complement your team’s composition while strategically countering the enemy lineup for more effective and coordinated fights.
Compete against the other team to secure resources
In SHRAPNEL, your mission is to deploy with your squad to secure a valuable resource known as Sigma before the enemy team captures it first. Once the meteorites fall on the ground, you can rush toward the craters, obtain the resources, and return them back to base. The gunplay is snappy and responsive, making every encounter with the enemy engaging and satisfying.
By capturing and securing Sigma deposits, Operators become more powerful as their signature abilities are upgraded, allowing your team to gain the upper hand. It rewards players for their hard work and gives them a sense of progression for working on the main objective. However, as a hero-based shooter, the sheer amount of on-screen action, including visual effects and overlapping abilities, can feel overwhelming for beginners still learning the flow of combat.
Deposit points also shift locations throughout each match, forcing players to constantly adapt to various dangerous situations presented to them. This dynamic system makes each match unpredictable, as teams must quickly reposition, reassess their priorities, and respond to enemy movements on the fly. It keeps players on their toes, encouraging quick decision-making and coordinated teamwork to maintain control and secure victory.
Intense, unpredictable, and skill-driven
Overall, SHRAPNEL is an intense PvP game that mixes hero shooters, objective-based gameplay, and extraction-shooter mechanics into one solid title. Matches are unpredictable and dynamic, offering a unique experience each time players hop on a game session. While the learning curve can be steep for newcomers, it’s typical of competitive, skill-driven games and provides a rewarding sense of long-term progression.
