Project Tachyon is a single-player action game set in the Tamageria Republic, which is facing a rebellion from an artificial intelligence group. In this game, you will travel through time, and you’ll be immersed in a run-and-gun shooting experience. Developed by STUDIO N9, it’s available on PC. 

Project Tachyon is similar to games like Hades II, Hero Siege, Brotato, and Roboquest—which are all action games with roguelike mechanics that let players fight off waves of enemies. Here, you’ll take on the role of Sigma who is tasked with coming up with a solution on how to avoid a nuclear winter. 

Time travel and stop a nuclear winter 

Project Tachyon’s story revolves around the crisis Tamageria Republic is dealing with after Mainframe OMEGA, an artificial intelligence group, rebelled against them. With this, they are forced to resort to launching a nuclear attack to stop Mainframe OMEGA. However, this nuclear attack also resulted in countless casualties. Commander Elina then secretly started “Project Tachyon” with the mission of avoiding a nuclear winter. 

In this game, you’ll assume the role of Sigma, a member of Project Tachyon who will travel through time, study the future, observe the aftermath of the nuclear attack, and come up with a solution to stop a nuclear winter. As a player, you’ll immerse yourself in battles with extravagant action scenes using a vast array of weapons. Here, you can use melee weapons and ranged weapons.  

Additionally, the game features over 200 powerful genes under ten different categories and upgrades depending on your playstyle. You also have the option to unlock powerful synergistic effects by collecting a variety of enhancement genes. The key in this game is to fight your enemies strategically by adapting to each situation. However, as the game is focused on battling against enemies, it doesn’t have a character development feature.
