Unlike PlanetSide 2 where it is solely made as an MMO FPS game with 3 factions and story plot, PlanetSide Arena is more of an arena shooter similar to Quake where combat is the main focus of the game. It takes place at the planet Auraxis, an exotic alien planet ravaged by war. The already established world of PlanetSide 2 is enough to build the world for PlanetSide Arena. This arena shooter lets players pick a class of their choice that have different roles. Players can take the role of Assault, Engineer and Combat Medic. Each class has unique skills augmented with futuristic arsenals. There are weapons, armor sets, and special blueprints available to collect. These collectibles allow customization of characters that fit with everybody’s own playstyle. The vastness of the arena introduces new methods of transportation. Players can ride futuristic ATVs, jetpacks, and tanks to traverse the ravaged terrains. The arena shooter game has two modes for players to enjoy. Massive Clash mode is a group battle comprising of 2 teams with 250 v.s. 250 players. This is quite massive for an arena shooter since the new mode can accommodate up to 500 players at the same time. Battle Royale mode lets players compete in solos or teams of 3 players. Having close allies in Battle Royale ensures better survivability against other teams. There are also other modes for players to try such as Deathmatch, Global Conquest and Search and Destroy.
