Pathogen-X is a return to the classic genre of survival horror, influenced by games like Dino Crisis, Resident Evil, and Intense Terror from the late ‘90s. Inside the Delta Corp research center, the virus known as Pathogen-X broke out without warning, infecting and creating droves of aggressive mutants. You've been charged with a fast search-and-recovery operation as special forces operative, Hawk.

All-out biological warfare 

You have three tasks in Pathogen-X: enter the facility, find a vaccine, and get out of the laboratory before the place gets nuked. The demo has the Shuffle Mode available for use. It will encourage you to battle through the vast underground Delta Corp Laboratories, where every playthrough is randomly organized by enemy encounters, object placement, and even the facility itself. All the assignments decide if your rank will go up, down, or stay the same.

After each completed mission, you will find out your rating. Find 3 separate primary guns and 2 special weapons and equip them. This includes the regular pistol, shotgun, assault rifle, desert eagle, and launcher of rockets—all of which will mow an opponent down. The main game will have a dedicated story mode where you play Agent Hawk. You will encounter new alien beings, gather new weapons and items, and discover the mysteries of who is behind the virus.

The game is currently in demo mode so you will see some features that need further improvement. First is the absence of customizing camera angles. A fixed camera angle would create an aura of more "nostalgic." Second, Shuffle Mode needs more varied locales to create a more arcade like experience. Other possible additions could be more options of how to navigate and other playable characters.

Big leaps for a demo game 

Fans of shooter games should try out Pathogen-X. The timely storyline of viruses and pathogens is made more interesting by putting you in the shoes of a skilled agent. While the game is currently available as a demo, the storyline and gameplay run just as smoothly as any full game. With a few improvements, the game should cater to a lot of arcade gamers.
