Electronic Super Joy is a humorous platform game with electronic music. The player takes control of a black human-like character and sets out to cross through the levels to retrieve his stolen butt and take revenge. There are over 45 levels, each with different obstructions, enemies, and surroundings. The game includes three boss fights to keep the player entertained.

The game world is drenched in electronic music, and each level has its own track that supports the gameplay. The player passes plenty of checkpoints on each level, and it is possible to resume from there if they die. Every stage is covered in a different color and includes portals, bridges, flying stairs, mazes, plants, and other obstacles. Some surfaces block the player's movement, while others affect them differently.

The character can run, jump, and do the "smashing" movement, which involves dropping on something directly. In some levels, the player can also fly or double jump. There are several types of enemies, including small white shooting missiles and black human-like creatures who differ from the protagonist by wearing different hats. Each enemy yelps a nasty black-humored phrase like "I stole your butt, it's true!" to keep the player entertained.
