Ars Metallica - Smithing Enhancement is a quest mod for The Elder Scrolls: Theyrim expansion that adds new perks, capabilities, and skills to skim's weapon crafting system. I say adds because this is not your traditional sturdily made steel weapon you would get in previous versions of the game, nor are you going to get any old iron without getting some perk points to pay for it. This mod adds skill for smelting and mining, two things that weren't very plentiful in prior versions of skim and are now. Plus, Smithing forges now lets you craft items at a faster rate and gives the opportunity to craft enchanted items that can really boost your stamina.

Something forges now have a variety of benefits over the normal steelcrafting. With the skyrimy edition you can now choose between forged staves, maces, swords, hammers, and even warhammers which all do different things and have different effects. This means you can craft different sized weapons and have multiple effects that can really spice up your character. Plus, your choice of weapon will be affected by your level and your perks too! New forged weapons will also have a unique appearance that can't be duplicated.

All this and more are now possible thanks to a new perk called Augmented Smithing that makes all of this possible. When you become a master smith, you'll start earning these new items instead of just regular staves or maces. Plus, there are now new creatures that drop rare metal pieces which you can use to upgrade your staves, maces, and swords. You'll be able to build stables and farms quickly with this perk, so you can get to know the landscape of skim a lot faster, plus you'll find that you'll make more money overall since you'll be selling the better crafted items instead of using the cheaper raw materials.
