Mothership Zeta Crew is a Fallout 3 mod that continues the story after the official Mothership Zeta DLC. Once you’ve conquered the alien starship, the mod puts you in command of a new faction, giving you the chance to build an army to rival the Enclave or the Brotherhood of Steel. With new missions, NPCs, and areas to explore, it offers one of the most expansive post-DLC experiences available for the game.

The adventure begins once you’ve completed the Mothership Zeta expansion. In your command bridge, a button appears on the console to the right of your chair. Pressing it sets the new storyline in motion, placing you in charge of transforming your ragtag crew into a formidable force. While the plot unfolds across multiple releases, each mission is designed to be self-contained, ensuring satisfying conclusions without leaving players on a cliffhanger.

Features that expand the wasteland

Mothership Zeta Crew introduces a variety of additions that reshape the way you experience Fallout 3. You gain access to new areas both inside the mothership and out in the wasteland, along with hordes of NPCs and unique missions—five at present. Enclave Commander–like features allow you to direct troops and strategize in battle, while new weapons, armor, and special features broaden the tools at your disposal. At its core is an epic story arc that evolves your role as a commander, offering depth and replay value far beyond the base game.

Requirements and compatibility

To run Mothership Zeta Crew, several components are necessary. All official Fallout 3 DLCs are required, along with FOSE (Fallout Script Extender) and Archive Invalidation Invalidated. The Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) is recommended for easier installation and handling of mods. The latest version, V166, was released in April 2023 and comes in at over 1GB. Optional extras include the April Fools parody ending and TSC Air Support, which adds air support and Enclave Commander–style enhancements for version 156 and remains compatible with V166.
