Zanki Zero: Last Beginning is a role-playing game by Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. The dungeon crawler game takes place in a flooded, post-apocalyptic world where 8 strangers have to break free from the endless cycles of life and death. Each protagonist represents a cardinal sin while possessing unique, invaluable skills that can help the party to progress further. Players can choose one of the stranded characters to explore their point of view in each chapter and discover the sins they have committed on their past. They have to traverse towns, ruins, dungeons, and islands to gather materials and food, along with finding out what happened in the world. There are also monsters roaming in real time and they must fend them off. The game includes a hygiene mechanic where they are forced to use the bathroom for their party’s sake. This game only has 13 days for a life cycle. Characters age from young to old while having different abilities and capabilities. Dying is not a disadvantage because players can still earn bonus upgrades upon rebirth while their dead characters are cloned indefinitely. They can take advantage of this system to stack up stats.
