Xuan-Yuan Sword VII tells the tale of a swordsman who lives in ancient China. After the emperor was illegally overthrown, a series of catastrophes befell the local community. Players must journey through dangerous lands and combat fierce enemies in order to unravel the truth.

Xuan-Yuan Sword VII offers a narrative-driven adventure that is similar to other well-known franchises, such as Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within. This is then combined with magic, ancient Chinese lore, and a host of enemies that must be faced if the player hopes to be victorious.

Mechanical monsters

While set in ancient times, there are instances when mechanical opponents created by a class known as the "Mohists" will need to be faced. Slightly steampunk in nature, this deviation provides a pleasant sense of variety throughout the gameplay.

Numerous skills to master

Similar to other first-person hack-and-slash games, users must obtain and master a host of unique skills if they hope to defeat powerful enemies. Examples include (but are not limited to) dodging, blocking, and advanced swordplay. The movements themselves are quite smooth, and this provides an additional sense of realism.

Well-designed cutscenes

The linear gameplay offered by Xuan-Yuan Sword VII is punctuated by extremely intricate cutscenes. These shed further light on the overall story, and they also will help the player to feel as if they are truly part of the adventure.

Hack-and-slash excitement with a touch of history

In terms of the overall action, the 2D top-down battles offered by this game can be compared to other franchises, such as Diablo Immortal. The main difference is that Xuan-Yuan Sword VII has placed a significant amount of focus on the storyline. Therefore, it should be quite attractive to RPG fans.
