Call of Dragons
A fantasy-driven game
Open-world survival game where rules are abstract
Voidtrain is a premium action title developed by Nearga for PC. It's an open-world survival game with physics and crafting gameplay elements. In it, players take on the role of crew members of an interdimensional express train traveling to discover various new worlds inhabited by mysterious creatures.
Just like with Rust or ARK: Survival Evolved, Voidtrain emphasizes exploration and being aware of the world around to help gather resources and survive. The game bends the rules without warning and player decisions and actions will dictate how the world will progress and unfold.
In Voidtrain, you're essentially a crew member working as an engineer aboard an interdimensional express train traveling the universe in search of new worlds to discover. As is the case with any new environment, you will need to do your best to adapt to whatever comes your way. This means exploring to gather the resources you'll need to survive the unknown journey ahead.
What makes the game stand out from the other survival games is that the worlds you'll discover will feel unique and different every single time you play. Some will feature no gravity, while others will reside completely up in the air. Then, some will require you to complete specific objectives first before you can start progressing again. This sense of unpredictability keeps things fresh and new.
What's more, each world will feature strange and mysterious creatures to observe and study, and some of them will inevitably be aggressive and hostile towards your sudden arrival. Thankfully, you can play with up to 4 friends in online multiplayer. Now, as for its official release date, there isn't one yet. You'll have to wait for more news and updates if you're interested in playing this game.
It has been a long journey since the game first came out in Early Access back in 2021, but all the hard work and community feedback have come to fruition with Voidtrain’s milestone v1.0 update to celebrate its full release to the world. It’s seeding out to all current players, and if you’ve been playing since way back when, your old saves are fully supported, so you don’t have to worry about losing any progress and just continue as usual.
The main highlights of this historic release include the third and final chapter of the story that will finally shed light on the mysterious scientist, his machinations, and your role in all of it. Automation is now even more integral to the experience, as you can gradually automate main systems in the game. The same goes for inventory and container management, which allows for more, well, room.
Then, there’s the combat and weapon system, which sees some nice improvements with more tactile feedback, and crafting is now easier to understand and follow. The accumulated tweaks to game balance and resource economy, as well as UI refinements, round out this massive update. Whether this is your first foray into the game or you’ve been a long-time fan, you can now experience Voidtrain in its full glory.
Voidtrain is a game that has been steadily generating buzz and hype since it was first announced, and it's for good reason. The premise is interesting, the gameplay seems solid, and the unpredictability of the worlds and their rules will surely make for a fun and unique experience every time you play. Recommended.
