Vermitron is a premium action game coming from developer FobTI Interactive. It is a twin-stick shooter that features retro graphics and a sci-fi theme and setting wherein players are tasked with protecting a rare flower that is in danger from invading insects looking to devour and destroy it.

Similar to games like Thronefall or Dungeon Defenders, Vermitron incorporates tower defense mechanics in its gameplay. Players will need to defend against waves of relentless insects on their base that are divided into multiple sections. They will need to utilize all kinds of weapons and gear at their disposal to succeed.

Plants and insects

Vermitron is basically a retro-futuristic arcade shooter that revolves around a nameless alien and a flower he is nurturing. However, an army of vicious insects has arrived looking to invade your base and devour it. You will take up arms to defend against this menace and protect your precious plant. Use all the resources you have at your disposal to succeed in your defense.

Combat in this game is a mix of tactical tower defense mechanics and fast-paced arcade-style shooting. Fortify your base with defenses and barricades to hinder enemies and slow their advances. Use your Bug Spray to fight against them and call upon your Holo Pet to provide support. You also get to unlock additional weapons and pets, as well as powerups to gain an advantage during battle.

Through the chaos and mayhem, you also need to be aware of your main objective, which is to find the watering can that is essential to keeping your flower alive. The gameplay itself is quite short, which considering its asking price, is a bit unfortunate. Hopefully, more content gets introduced in future updates to build upon the experience and add to its appeal and replayability.

All in all, Vermitron is a charming arcade shooter with fun gameplay and some tactical mechanics to make things a bit more engaging and complex. There are various weapons and pets to unlock, so you can experiment with all kinds of play styles.
