Underboard is a premium strategy PC game by developer Headless. It is a grid-based tactical RPG set in a dark fantasy world, where players form a team of warriors to take on hordes of dangerous enemies while searching for a way to escape entrapment within a mysterious realm they’ve found themselves in. 

Comparable to games like Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot or Aethermancer, Underboard employs auto-battler mechanics for its gameplay, and will have players come up with ideal grid formations for their squad to achieve maximum effectiveness and battle power. Fight, survive, and escape 

The game takes place in a fantasy world, wherein you’ve been trapped inside the titular Underboard, a mysterious realm filled with monsters and unknown dangers. Form a team of warriors to take on the threats this place poses, and you get to choose from a diverse roster of characters for your squad. Venture through randomly generated maps with branching paths to take, and fight your way to freedom. 

The gameplay is a combination of turn-based tactics and auto-battler mechanics. Place your characters in various formations on the board, with the goal of combining their unique traits to create synergies for bonuses and using items to boost their stats and powers further. You can also cast spells to provide support for your team during tough battles to flip the odds in your favor. 

Explore multiple unique zones, each one featuring distinct environments and themes that affect the type of enemies and bosses you’ll encounter. Unlock masteries to choose a specialization for your team that lets you experiment with different play styles even more. All that said, the AI needs to be improved, as there are times when characters would act sporadically and unpredictably during battles.

All in all, Underboard is a fun and engaging auto-battler that offers a surprising amount of tactical depth and gameplay variety. There are diverse characters to choose from and a wide selection of gear to boost their powers and traits to combine in various ways.
