Pony-inspired 2D fighter

Them's Fightin' Herds is a traditional 2D fighting game featuring a roster of four-legged animals. Originally conceived as a My Little Pony fan game, the project evolved into a unique creation through crowd-funding.

Herd stampede

After a cease and desist from Hasbro and a quick name change back in 2015, Them's Fightin' Herds dropped official references to My Little Pony and began a crowd-funding campaign with the aim to become a separate entity drawing inspiration from the popular TV show. Early 2018 finally saw the Early Access release of the horse-based fighting game with character design from acclaimed animator Lauren Faust. A surprisingly well-polished and complete game, Them's Fightin' Herds is a fairly standard 2D fighter notable for smooth animations and a dynamic sound track. Fighting is based around a four button input control method, which allows new players to play with ease while leaving a decent skill cap. At release, the game only contained 6 playable characters and no campaign mode, but additional content has been promised. Also included is a pixel art hub world with social interaction.

Mediocre

Them's Fightin' Herds is an average 2D fighter with an interesting backstory. A striking similarity to other fighters make it more suitable to fans of My Little Pony and Faust's art-style over hardcore fighting players.
