In it, players are stuck in an endless loop of events and situations. The only way to escape is to identify strange anomalies and descend a hotel one floor at a time. 

End of your shift 

In The Golden Retreat, you play as a bartender at a fancy art deco hotel who just finished your shift and is about to go home. However, you suddenly find yourself stuck in a loop on the 9th floor. The only way to escape is to identify strange anomalies and correctly choose the right elevator to ride down, one floor at a time. 

There are all types of anomalies to record, from small visual details to fixtures and furniture to entities that will even try to do you harm. The game auto-saves every floor so you don't lose progress, and there are two possible endings to unlock. That said, the entire playthrough only lasts about an hour or so, which is quite short. 

Escape and go home 

To sum up, The Golden Retreat is a solid walking simulator experience that combines hidden object gameplay mechanics with psychological horror elements. Despite its multiple endings, it will not be a particularly long adventure, but is one that is still worth checking out if you like these types of games.
