The Gate Must Stand is an action-packed strategy game developed and published by Senmu Studio for desktop gaming, where you defend your base through strategic movement. At the same time, your allies hold their positions against relentless hordes of demonic enemies attempting to breach the gate of your base. 

Played from a top-down perspective, The Gate Must Stand delivers a thrilling, arcade-style gameplay experience with its quirky 2D graphics, tower defense and base-building mechanics, real-time tactics, and roguelike elements. It also explores several themes, including dark fantasy, fantasy, medieval, and magic. 

Be the last hope 

The Gate Must Stand follows the story of the Continent being on its knees, with the Great City of Belrak being the world’s last remaining hope against the invaders. Now, it is in your hands to save humanity by choosing the right valiant hero, forging alliances with other heroes, upgrading their unique abilities, discovering powerful synergies, and fighting alongside one another. 

The full game offers a dense action-strategy experience with four heroes, 149 hero skills, and 38 ultimate forms shaping each run, where you can command 19 base followers, unlock 150 follower skills, and explore six maps across three stages. With five difficulty levels, 13 bosses, elite enemies, 46 advanced skill options, and 53 relics, the game offers deep strategic variety that rewards careful planning, skill mastery, and replayability. 

Currently, it’s available in demo mode, giving you a taste of intense action-strategy gameplay with two heroes, 65 hero skills, and 18 ultimate forms. Here, you lead nine base followers and develop 54 unique follower skills while confronting four formidable bosses. It includes 37 advanced skill options, 13 relics, and a meta progression cap of level three. However, since this is a demo, the content is limited compared to the full game.
