S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Choice of Destiny Mod is actually a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. map mod that brings together previously added maps to create a massive map. It is the continuation of a previous map extension and modification project. It also modernizes the game by making many elements look more three-dimensional.

This mod brings together the mods Escape / Cordon (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky), Darkscape 1865 (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadows of Chornobyl), and the mod called Hallway / Predbannik (AMK-Team). By editing the locations and adding a hallway, the multiple modded maps become a single massive location.

Dramatically extended FPS fun

The mod is called “Choice of Destiny” because the hallway allows you to navigate between the various STALKER maps. Many map elements also look more three-dimensional, partially due to better shading and textures, which helps to modernize the maps for modern audiences.

Continuing the hard work

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Choice of Destiny Mod project has continued the SZM CoP 0.2 mod, which first came out in 2012. There hasn’t been a focus on a storyline like there was in the SZM CoP 0.2 mod. However, you can play the game for free and play quests. This mod also continues the development of the mod "Return to the Shadows."

A standalone mod

Besides the other benefits, this is also a standalone mod. This means you don't have to replace anything in the original game files. How to add a mod isn't immediately obvious, but there are plenty of instructions online regarding how to unpack and add the mod.

Suited for modern gaming devices

Collecting together massive maps may cause a problem for some FPS shooting games. But, with conscientious loading protocols and simplified 2006-era onward map design, most modern gaming devices can easily handle large maps. The game runs pretty smoothly as a whole on modern devices.
