Smilodon - Combat of Skyrim is one of the first Skirmish mod ever made that improves combat for players in the game. It features many of the most powerful mods for any of the games and also improves the graphics significantly. With this mod, combat in Skyrim gets a real boost, making it much more enjoyable to play. Combat in the game is often bland and not very dynamic. Thankfully, the skimpiest modding community has designed some great mods to make combat more interesting, especially on Legendary difficulty where there is so much going on. I've talked about some of the more interesting ones below, with my personal review at the end:

Smilodon - Combat of Skyrim is also great because it adds in several new creatures to the game. The giant spider is especially exciting, as you can use a powerful spider bow and shoot arrows at its body. The Bat swarm is also cool, as you can target groups of bats and let them go at it as one big mass of damage. The frost spider is just as fun, as it has the same ability as the giant spider but freezes its victims to death. Of course, all these are just extra things that are added to the game to spice things up, and aren't the core of the mod. The fact that they are there makes the game much more fun and dramatic.

Smilodon - Combat of Skyrim is also made for higher level characters, which is what I love about this. However, the mod also works perfectly fine for lower level characters, as it provides a good challenge. The biggest weakness of the mod is that it lacks content. There aren't really any quests or anything to do other than take your new weapons from the forge and start using them. If you enjoy combat, then this is definitely for you.
