SiN Episodes: Emergence is a free action game for PC from developer Ritual Entertainment. It is the official planned sequel to the developer's classic first-person shooter, Sin, which aims to build upon the experience and gameplay with a series of episodic games. It serves as the first episode to that list.

Much like Cyberpunk 2077 or Fallout 4, SiN Episodes: Emergence draws heavily from sci-fi themes for its narrative and world-building that are set in the distant future. It boasts a large open-world map for players to explore and different characters to meet and interact with.

Episode One

In SiN Episodes: Emergence, you play as John Blade, leader of an elite security force tasked with protecting Freeport City. It has been four years since your encounter with mad scientist, Elexis Sinclaire and her organization SiNTEK. Together with a hacker named JC and the fiery rookie, Jessica Cannon, it's time to take matters into your own hands and stop this evil plot for good.

The game's combat sequences are thrilling as you face all kinds of enemies, from soldiers to mutants that evolve and change tactics as you fight them. Utilize the game's highly interactive and destructible environments to your advantage and defeat them. Employ various weapons to deal with hostile threats and even engage in vehicular combat in some situations for chaotic and fun battles filled with plenty of explosions.

What's more, there's a unique Personal Challenge System that analyzes your play style and dynamically adapts to provide you with a proper challenge all the way through. That said, the game was meant to be the first of nine episodes to help jumpstart the whole series. Sadly, development for it has been put on indefinite hold, with still no news as to whether it will resume or not.

The start of something

If you were one of those who played and experienced the original Sin game, SiN Episodes: Emergence would have been a compelling sequel to build upon its intriguing world and engaging gameplay. Sadly, this is, for all intents and purposes, the first and last entry in the series. Enjoy it as it is, and don't expect anything new to come out anytime soon.
