Second Extinction is a thrilling 3-player cooperative shooter in which you must eliminate mutant dinosaurs that have taken over the world. It has the same relentlessness as Doom and Left 4 Dead, but with higher production values, a focus on cooperative play, and a broader meta-game that affects the world's map. 

When you take on the part of one of the survivors, you'll need to work together to take on the overwhelming number of opponents, using a mix of weapons, powers, and skills. It's up to you to retake Earth from a disarray of missiles, explosives, jaws, nails, and blood.

Is Second Extinction multiplayer?

In Second Extinction, you and up to 2 comrades fight hordes of mutant dinosaurs. You can also play solo. Solo play has been made easier with Expedition mode. It can be difficult, particularly if the difficulty level is set to Insane. There are currently 5 heroes in Second Extinction, split into 3 classes. Troopers are an aggressive Damage Per Second class that includes the swaggering Ortega and tactical sniper Jürgen.

The Enforcers are brutes or tanks with big, heavy weapons that can only be handled by an exo-suit-wearing hero. Rosy and Jack can be found here. Finally, you have the Operators, the gadgety-class, where we find our Amir, who loves explosions and lasers. You win different dinosaur parts as you finish an in-game quest, added contracts, which can be used to customize and add bonuses to your weapons. 

These objects can also be obtained by killing dinosaurs. Playing in Insane gets easier to survive as the weapons are upgraded. When you're out in the world, you'll be asked to fulfill various contracts, several of which are seasonal altering every few months, while some are based on the guns you're carrying. There are several contracts to fulfill, and missions unique to the various places you’ll visit from your dropship.

Challenging but rewarding game 

Second Extinction is a brilliant co-op game with new features added on a daily basis by the developers. It's actually very good for an early access title, and it's a lot of fun and enjoyable to play without a lot of glitches. A fun and fast-paced game with a lot of potentials. If you're playing alone, it'll be difficult; two players or more is optimal.
