Explore the dark alone
SAVEN is an action game with a chilling horror theme. In this creepy and sinister title, you take on the role of Carl, a maintenance worker who spends seven nights at a haunted house, fixing broken things and keeping everything in order — only to find out that he’s not alone.
In SAVEN, you’ll have to guide Carl as he explores the dark corners of the house and investigates what’s lurking in the shadows. It features an immersive environment with excellent storytelling, presented from a first-person perspective. This horror game is best played with headphones.
Uncover the shrouded mystery
SAVEN is a dark and mysterious psychological horror game that definitely sends chills down your spine. The protagonist is Carl, a handyman who is sent to take care of an eerie-looking house. At first, you’ll do the usual mundane tasks such as fixing leaks and broken floorboards, but then bizarre occurrences begin to happen — you’ll realize that someone or something is with you inside the house.
Story-wise, it is told from a first-person perspective, with puzzling dialogue akin to indie games. The environment has a realistic 3D art style, making it surreal and feeling like you’re actually in-character as you explore the darkness. Players must also be warned about the jump scares of a large, slender man with a creepy-looking face — definitely not a game for the faint of heart due to its disturbing appearance.
The objectives are laid out plain and simple, but it is up to you to figure out how to complete them, as some involve searching for certain items to progress the story. There’s also no combat involved, and you’ll have to keep your cool and act normal when there’s something supernatural happening. It’s a tense game where you’re only equipped with a flashlight. However, as you progress, the jump scares become bland.
A horror game that keeps you on your toes
Overall, SAVEN is a game that keeps you up at night. Its realistic graphics and eerie atmosphere add to the immersive experience that you’ll get while exploring the house. The objectives seem simple, but they’re actually challenging enough that you’ll have to use your brain to figure things out. The game's tension gradually increases due to its seven-shift structure.
