Tactical space survival game
Quasimorph is a premium strategy title for PCs made by developer Magnum Scriptum. It is a sci-fi game with turn-based combat that's set in space wherein players take on the role of military contractors. They will uncover the truth behind a mysterious and deadly disease on one of their jobs.
Like ZERO Sievert or Project Zomboid, Quasimorph injects survival elements into its gameplay for a more immersive, high-stakes experience. It also employs a unique make-or-break loot mechanic that forces players to really think and consider their every action given what they can gain (or lose) with each run.
Behind the mysterious disease
In the strategy game Quasimorph, you run your own Private Military Company that takes on all sorts of contracts from greedy corporations looking to amass resources and expand their control throughout the solar system. During one of your jobs, you uncover a mysterious disease known as Quasimorphisis. You must not tread carefully as you slowly unravel the secrets behind it.
You'll be doing all sorts of jobs in this game, doing plenty of looting and scavenging across the planetary bases, research labs, and wreckages you'll explore—survive to take them all or fail and lose everything. Command a squad of clones that offer a distinct advantage of learning from failed missions and trying again. All of that, while learning the truth behind the cursed disease.
You're not the only PMC in space, though, as different corporations hire other contractors whom you will cross paths with sometimes. Add the arrival of interdimensional demons, and you have your hands full with so many things to worry about. That said, the game needs to work on its balance issues, which ramps the difficulty way too high in certain parts of the gameplay.
Prevent a galactic crisis
There are plenty of good things going for Quasimorph, from its tactical combat to its challenging survival elements to its intriguing story. However, the whole experience is soured by poor game balance, which most players will find abnormally difficult. Hopefully, this issue will be addressed as soon as possible. Once that happens, this game is going to be worth checking out.
