Similar to the acclaimed Lovecraftian-themed RPG title, Call of Cthulhu, Depersonalization prioritizes player choice and story impact over predefined progression, delivering an ever-evolving and deeply engaging gameplay experience. However, unlike traditional RPGs, this game lacks a rigid growth system. Instead, it focuses on how character traits impact the unfolding story. 

Dynamic character development

Depersonalization draws its inspiration from the eerie and intricate universe of esteemed writer, H. P. Lovecraft's "Call of Cthulhu." The game's narrative plunges players into a chaotic void where their character's physical and mental stability is on the brink of collapse. Amidst this turmoil, a graceful, white-haired girl, embodying the Outer God with boundless wisdom, intervenes, setting the stage for an enthralling and mystifying journey.

One key feature is the freedom to develop a unique Investigator. Players are encouraged to delve into mysterious scenarios through exploration, reasoning, and decision-making. Unlike traditional RPGs, there isn't a rigid growth system. Instead, all attributes are intertwined with the storyline, impacting how the narrative unfolds. This flexibility allows for a rich, varied plot where different choices lead to diverse outcomes and endings, contributing to a multifaceted and immersive experience.

Combat takes a backseat to exploration and storytelling, preventing the game from feeling like a series of disjointed battles linked by cutscenes. However, one notable drawback of the game is its somewhat inconsistent translations from Simplified Chinese to English.
