Peglin is a single-player role-playing game that offers hybrid gameplay of roguelike and pachinko. The game sees players taking a small goblin on an adventure to various locations. Along the way, you can encounter enemies that you can beat using a Pachinko-like set. 

Peglin plays like a combination of Peggle and Slay the Spire. Only this time, your pachinko score determines the damage you deal with your opponent. Here, you can get special orbs and popping pegs to deal with the damage. Its mechanics are entirely physics-based, making it more challenging.  

What is the plot of Peglin? 

The game revolves around the story of the titular small goblin-like creature out to avenge his kind and recover their wealth. It combines fantasy adventure with pachinko mechanics, allowing you to deal damage to your enemies with every peg you pop in the custom pachinko tables. Different designs and layouts match your enemies and your progress in the story, making every playthrough unique as a roguelike title. 

In Peglin, you play as a goblin who goes on an adventure to slay the dragons and take back the gold they stole. You need to travel to various locations and have various encounters with enemies. To defeat them successfully, you can use a Pachinko-like set. Using your mouse, keyboard, or controller, you aim and fire the balls to hit as many pegs as possible. The more pegs you hit, the higher the deal damage to the enemies. 

Aside from the pachinko-based combat mechanics, the game also lets you collect randomized relics like orbs to help you on your way. With every enemy you defeat, you also get to upgrade your orbs to help you fight the tougher bosses along the way. Once you defeat the enemy, you can choose the route you want to take. This feature gives you the freedom to explore the locations you want.  

Peglin’s 0.9.22 and 0.9.55 version updates 

With its updated properties, version 0.9.22 introduces the addition of Spinventor class, offering players an exciting gameplay experience. This class comes with an impressive collection of over 15 unique orbs and 10 relics, enhancing strategic possibilities within the game. Various adjustments have been made alongside the class expansion, including name changes such as Refreshorb becoming Refreshircle and Stone transforming into Pebball. Specific removals like Pebball, Roundabout, Ripostal Service, and Sworb have been removed from the game's available pool, providing a refined and balanced gameplay environment. 

Meanwhile, its recent update, version 0.9.55 added four new Cruciball levels. In Cruciball 17, it increases the deal damage in mini-bosses, while orb prices become higher in Cruciball 18 making all the lower levels reduce its orb costs. Furthermore, in Cruciball 19, additional enemies can be made through regular battels and Cruciball 20’s bosses became more difficult. It also offers new bosses, like forest mini-boss and shield mage boss. However, the game can be challenging at first as you need to aim precisely at your orb to win. 

A unique turn-based RPG game 

For players who are into two gameplay features in one platform, Peglin is a must-try game. It lets you play as a goblin who travels around various locations to get back your wealth. The game’s result offers a unique and fun gaming experience to players. Although it can be challenging at first as the result of your battles often relies on how well you aim your orb at the pachinko set, it still provides thrilling gameplay.
