Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok is a premium action game for PC developed by Noxfall Studios. It is an isometric roguelike featuring a distinct Nordic theme for its gameplay and story. In it, players will take on the role of brave Norse warriors as they take on hordes of creatures and attempt to survive the end of their world.

Much like Deep Rock Galactic: Survivors and Soulstone Survivors, Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok takes inspiration from the ever-popular Survivors-like sub-genre for its gameplay. It features multiple characters and an extensive ability tree that players can customize to their play style.

End of the world

Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok takes place in a fantasy Norse world at the precipice of the prophesied Ragnarok. Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life, no longer has enough energy to sustain life among the Nine Realms and is slowly succumbing to the chaos. You will play as one of the last remaining survivors and will be fighting for your life to survive the impending doom.

Journey across nine unique maps inspired by the Nine Realms as you face all sorts of monsters from mysterious portals, including elites and bosses. Pick from over 10 characters, each with unique weapons and a dedicated skill tree to cater to your preferred play style. Enhance their powers and abilities with Character Masteries and more than 150 relics to equip.

Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok features five game modes to keep things interesting and more than 150 achievements to complete. What's more, there are Reward Shrines scattered throughout levels that give out special rewards for completing quests and challenges. That said, the experience of getting upgrades ends up becoming very grindy as you need to earn very little and have to collect a lot.

Survive Ragnarok

If you're a fan of Survivors-like games and are looking for something to try, Nordic Ashes: Survivors of Ragnarok is a decent option worth considering. The gameplay is solid and allows for a lot of diversity with the many ways you can customize your character builds. You do have to grind quite a lot to progress, though, but if you don't mind that, give this one a shot.
