Form a squad of four to help you pilot your Mech, with each given a specific role, namely a Driver, Gunner, Engineer, and Operator. Customize your machine with different parts and equipment as you employ three mech modes that offer distinct play styles. During encounters, carefully plan your moves during the Planning Phase and watch them play out like an anime show sequence in the Resolution Phase.

You will also need to manage crew morale to ensure everyone is happy and performing their duties well. Explore an open-world continent, complete contracts, and with permadeath present, hire new members to replace lost ones. You can also engage in asynchronous online multiplayer for a more engaging experience. However, the combination of mech customization, relationship management, and timeline tactics can overwhelm players new to tactical RPGs.

What’s New in Patch 03

NITRO GEN OMEGA has announced the Patch 03 update, bringing two key features: an in-game World Map and the ability to choose which Skill to replace when leveling up a fully maxed-out pilot. You can now open the map with M on PC or X/Square on controllers, and it reveals locations as you visit them — plus, quest-related spots will show up even if you haven’t discovered them yet.

The map also organizes Outposts by faction and highlights key stores in each area. On the skills front, a new screen lets you select which ability to overwrite or discard the new one entirely when your Fool is full. Alongside these, it added new character palettes, fixed bugs, like broken cooking recipes and misplaced textures, made skill balancing improvements, and adjusted hotkeys.
