Mirror's Edge™ Catalyst features an open-world design paired with momentum-based movement mechanics that allow players to run, leap, wall-run, and roll while exploring the City of Glass. Players can perform parkour moves to maintain speed and flow as they traverse rooftops and other environments.

Additionally, Runner Vision highlights traversal routes, helping players navigate efficiently through the city. Although the game emphasizes individual skill and creative traversal, it does not include multiplayer or co-op modes, focusing entirely on a single-player experience.

In Mirror's Edge™ Catalyst, players follow the story of Faith Connors as she opposes the Conglomerate, a ruling group that controls the City of Glass. The narrative is presented through missions and cutscenes, introducing Faith’s role as a Runner and her fight against corporate surveillance and control.
