MOITM (Mass Effect Updated/Improved Textures Mod) mod for Mass Effect: Normandy add-on is a photorealistic modification that gives you a gorgeous new look at Normandy and it's beaches. It mainly focuses on improving visuals and game performance with few additions. It was made as an enhancement for the Mass Effect series in order to offer a more photorealistic experience to players. I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised with it, although admittedly, it is not perfect, there is still room for improvement. However, what it does have right now is a lot of wow factor, especially when combined with the wonderful Normandy texture and skybox map. I will also say that it introduces new soft shaders for Mass Effect: ME1 and gives it a very well polished look, especially given the fact that it was made by someone who is familiar with both games.

This mod is not just about altering some values or colors but actually it brings them all together in one place to get a much better game performance, which is a huge plus point. For example, I am using the new volumetric fog enabled in MEUITM, so all the smoke effects come out in the end, there is a much more realistic look as smoke flows over the ground while explosions occur below. I think that the combination of volumetric fog, improved normal maps and high resolution shaders really brings life to MEUITM while visually giving it a much more polished look than the original mass effect.

There are other mods for Mass effect: ME1 that can be used alongside this one, so it's definitely not a waste of time installing them both together. I must say that these two mods are very useful in my opinion. The main thing that I like best about them is that they are both extremely easy to install and use, so you don't have to worry about anything else. You can even download them for free! So, if you are looking for a new way to play this great game then you should definitely look into using these mods, especially if you are a big fan of the original mass effect games.
