Becoming a hero

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR starts with players meeting a friendly sprite in a room where a brief flashback and explanation is made. If you are familiar with its predecessor Megadimension Neptunia VII, then good for you but to those who are new to the game, there is nothing to worry about. While it is a continuation, it has its own plot that comes with entirely different quests, missions, and maps to discover and explore. There is also the addition of new characters and villains. Whether you are an old fan or a new player, a quick rundown of how things go in the game is given. Basically, it is a quick tutorial to help you navigate around and play Megadimension properly and smoothly. All of this is done in the Player’s room, which is like the game lobby but functions very much like your own personal quarters. All of the mementos or items you have gathered in your journey can be used as decorations for your room. Additionally, the goddesses that you will meet during your quest will be interacting with your collection of figures or furniture. Of course, you as the hero of the player can also talk with the goddesses. 

Get ready to fight

Once you are all set, it is time to begin your journey. The game progresses by completing one chapter after the other. The goddesses will serve as your champions. In fact, they function like your actual game avatars as you get to control them directly as you explore the area. Things get real once you finally engage in battle. You will be taken into an arena where you will face your strong opponents. Your characters will be taking turns in attacking and you are allowed to strategically arrange their positions and order during battle. By doing so, you will be able to establish connections that will let you perform special skills and deadly attack combos. A good strategy will cause you less damage but if you are still worried about losing after running out of HP, there is always health potions that can help restore it. Just be sure to stock on them before engaging in a fight.

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR has really stunning visuals and effects as well as an incredible soundtrack, all of which makes it very enjoyable to play. No prior knowledge about the game is also needed for you to appreciate its story and gameplay. The only thing you have to worry about is how you will be able to have as much fun as possible.
