MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is a premium action game featuring 15 characters from the Marvel franchise. Developed by Tribute Games Inc. and published by Dotemu and Gamirror Games for multiple platforms, this fighting title lets players face the Annihilation Wave that threatens the balance and lives in the universe. 

Rendered in 2D and pixel graphics, MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is an arcade-style game similar to the great games of the '90s, offering a combat-filled and nostalgic experience. This superhero title features beat-‘em-up and side-scrolling mechanics and supports local and online co-op multiplayer gameplay. 

Save the cosmos 

The narrative of MARVEL Cosmic Invasion follows the balance in the galaxy being interrupted as a sudden attack is launched across the cosmos by the one and only Annihilus—the embodiment of death and unstoppable force. Now, it is in the hands of this roster of heroes to retain the sacred balance and save all the living creatures in this universe. 

From street-level crime fighters of New York City to cosmic beings willing to go to the Negative Zone, heroes join forces for a mission to fight against the Annihilation Wave. Some heroes in this roster include Wolverine and Storm from X-Men, Captain America (Steve Rogers) and Spider-Man from the Avengers, Nova (Richard Rider) from the Nova Corps, Phyla-Vell from Guardians of the Galaxy, and even the villain Venom (Eddie Brock). 

With its Cosmic Swap tag-team system, players get to pick two of the Marvel heroes to switch their chosen heroes back and forth with ease. It allows them to utilize each character’s fighting styles and special abilities to create devastating combos. However, although a 15-character selection can be substantial for casual players, fans of Marvel and the comic run on which this game is based might find it limited.   

Team up for thrilling battles

There are two modes of play in MARVEL Cosmic Invasion. Campaign Mode lets players step into a fast-paced, approachable adventure that’s easy to pick up. The missions are simple and accessible, though the story and content can feel light at times. If you want more challenge, Arcade Mode ramps up the difficulty with tougher enemies and unlockable modifiers.

You can play solo or with up to three friends in local or online co-op. Multiplayer is more fun with friends, and the game automatically scales enemy difficulty, keeping battles thrilling, fast-paced, and full of action. It’s a great way to mix strategy with chaos.
