Dungeon Rampage is an action title by Gamebreaking Studios. It's an online co-op hack-and-slash dungeon crawler that supports up to four players, featuring a cartoon-like art style. It is the revival of the classic multiplayer Flash game of the same name, first released in 2012.

Compared to the original game, this iteration of Dungeon Rampage aims to be as faithful to its predecessor in terms of gameplay. However, it also introduces various quality-of-life improvements in line with modern gaming standards, making the experience more accessible to both newcomers and returning fans.

Back from the dead

In a nutshell, Dungeon Rampage is an online co-op hack-and-slash game in which you team up with three other players to take on the difficult task of defeating the evil Lord Dinglepus and stopping his reign of terror over the land. Pick one of eight heroes to control, each having its own set of strengths and abilities that fall into different play styles.

Traverse that land and fight your way through various dungeons spread across multiple unique biomes. Each adventure is procedurally generated, ensuring that no two runs are exactly alike and delivering a fresh, varied experience every time. Battle diverse enemies, level up your heroes and their abilities, and customize your loadouts with hundreds of weapons you can loot throughout your journey.

What’s more, you can recruit a pet to join you and help fight enemies and provide support during battle. Pick from a wide variety of animals and mythical creatures, including wolves, rhinos, and even a dragon. On a side note, be aware that the game is still in Early Access, so development is ongoing, and it is not the full experience.

An impressive revival

If you played the original way back when and are a fan of its gameplay and visuals, the new Dungeon Rampage will come as a nice surprise. It captures much of what made its predecessor such a cult favorite while making QoL changes throughout. It’s not complete yet, but it already offers a fun and compelling experience worth checking out.
