Major League Gladiators is a free co-op arena shooter. Take on hordes of enemies with a variety of weapons, working together with a partner to effectively reload and maintain health.

Into the fight

Designed by students as part of an undergrad program, Major League Gladiators is a simple arena shooter with a focus on co-op mechanics. Most of the standard elements of a shooter, such as picking up ammo or health packs, require teamwork to plan. Simply running and gunning without thought will lead to a quick death for both players. These mechanics add a welcome strategy element to an otherwise fairly mediocre game. While it may be silly to criticise a free student game for lack of depth, the single map and music track quickly become tiresome. A neon inspired art style is reminiscent of a classic retro look is a great choice for the lo-fi game but also does nothing to help motion sickness.

Short and sweet

Major League Gladiators is an overall decent game. A quick play-through with a friend lasting around 30 minutes will provide everything the game has to offer.
