HOTEL BARCELONA is a chaotic, slasher film-inspired action game where players control Justine, a novice federal marshal with a deranged serial killer living inside her. Trapped in a cursed hotel filled with dangerous killers, Justine must battle through horrific scenarios while gaining strength with each brutal fight. 

Creative mechanics and intense combat 

HOTEL BARCELONA’s core feature revolves around the Slasher Phantoms, past versions of yourself that replicate your previous actions. These phantoms help in combat by acting as decoys and dealing damage, making every death a new opportunity to grow stronger. The combat is brutal and satisfying, but the repetitive nature of the battles can wear thin after a while. 

With each kill, Justine gains power, ultimately activating the “Carnival Awakening” super attack when her bloodbath reaches its peak. The game features seven distinct locations, each inspired by different horror films, with boss battles that require strategy and careful observation of enemy patterns. However, the over-the-top violence can be off-putting for some.
