As Agent 47, players embark on a globetrotting journey filled with intricate sandbox levels, strategic assassinations, and unparalleled freedom in how missions unfold.  

Hitman 3 builds upon its predecessors with stunning visuals, improved AI, and a gripping narrative, though it retains the familiar mechanics that have defined the series. While some may find the formula unchanged, the game refines the experience to near perfection, making it a standout entry in the franchise. 

Refined gameplay and open-ended missions 

Hitman 3 continues the series’ signature sandbox approach, where players can eliminate targets through a variety of creative methods, from disguises and poisoning to staged accidents and sniper shots. The levels in the game are meticulously crafted, filled with carefully placed assets to amplify the assassination challenge while allowing players to explore their creativity for kills. However, the core gameplay remains largely unchanged, which may feel too familiar. 

This action game offers immense replayability, encouraging players to experiment with different approaches and unlock new gear through the Mastery system. Owners of previous Hitman games can import levels, creating a seamless trilogy experience. Additionally, the VR mode adds a fresh perspective, though controls and movement feel a bit clunky compared to traditional gameplay. The always-online requirement for progression tracking remains a frustrating limitation, especially for solo players. 

The visuals are breathtaking, with environments that feel alive and rich with detail. Locations like Berlin’s underground rave and Chongqing’s neon-lit streets showcase incredible design and environmental storytelling. Each mission area is a self-contained world filled with opportunities, secrets, and side stories that reward exploration. The soundtrack and excellent voice acting further enhance immersion, making every mission feel cinematic. However, some NPC animations and interactions still feel a bit stiff. 

A fitting finale for the trilogy 

Hitman 3 delivers a masterful conclusion to the trilogy, refining its stealth gameplay with breathtaking level design, immersive environments, and near-limitless freedom in assassinations. While it doesn’t reinvent the formula, it polishes the experience to near perfection.
