In terms of graphics, expect the same visual quality from the base game as it was decades ago. It retains the low-poly character models, both your own characters and others you interact with. With it, the mod immediately feels immersive and consistent with the original HL universe.

Also, where the original game lets you defeat monsters and aliens with a range of weaponry, this one has a different gameplay approach. It goes away with the action approach and focuses on puzzles and platforming. You will find environmental and interactive puzzles of varying degrees, as well as the need to jump gaps and climb areas. A challenging part of this mod is that you’re unarmed, unlike Dr. Freeman.

Lastly, it has a short playthrough, which makes players want for more adventures and content. You can finish the additional campaign in about 45 minutes. Additionally, while it has a good premise, there are a few bumps in the execution. There are rough edges in the stage design, coming out as glitchy or incomplete. There are frames where character models or facial details do not render correctly.
