Grippy Golf is a 3D sports and platformer game with a free-to-download demo. Taking on the role of a robot golfer, your goal is to get three stars by completing bonus objectives and beating each level in one stroke — which in itself is a challenge.

The golf ball can stick to objects

Once the golf club strikes the ball, it will glow and you can control its trajectory. While airborne, it’s best to aim for the booster arrows as they help you reach the end of the level faster. Collecting certain objects is also necessary for completing a stage’s bonus objective.

As object collection increases the golf ball’s mass, controlling it will be much trickier. Besides that, you can always restart the level if things don’t go your way. The Star Shop, though, is a peculiar one as the “golf balls” it sells are otherworldly objects, like a hairbrush. 

A whole new league of platforming

Overall, Grippy Gold is different from other golf games, infusing a touch of platforming elements to test a player’s ability to control the golf ball’s trajectory and movement. The gameplay and controls take some getting used to, not to mention that some levels trigger a player’s frustration.
