Monster-collection dungeon crawler game
Gloamvault is a premium role-playing game for PC developed by NoodleGameDev. It's a first-person dark fantasy dungeon-crawling adventure with anti-hero themes. Players take on the role of a revived evil wizard who can charm and tame any monster to fight for them inside a dangerous dungeon.
Similar in concept to games like Creature Keeper or Temtem, Gloamvault employs creature-collecting mechanics, but with a dark and more serious tone for its gameplay. There are hundreds of monsters to face as players navigate a maze-like dungeon, all of which can be charmed to be part of their pack of companions.
Monster charmer
In Gloamvault, you play as an evil wizard revived after centuries of eternal slumber. After suffering all manner of hate and contempt, you are hellbent on vengeance against those who have shunned and forsaken you, and will need to build an army to do so. Fortunately, you're within a dungeon filled with monsters that you can charm and tame to do your bidding.
Descend and navigate the depths of a dungeon crawling with over 500 types of monsters to charm and add to your team of five minions to help you face what's ahead. Each creature boasts 25 unique abilities you can claim for yourself and combine in various ways. Earn points for upgrades and collect items that boost your stats and skills or provide unique effects.
Arguably, the main draw of the experience is that you can use your evil magic to merge any two creatures to create a chimera-like abomination that takes the deadliest parts of both for something new. Now, there are still some game balance issues to iron out, but they do not detract from the fun and varied experience you can have when playing.
Playing at evil creation
All in all, if you're a fan of dungeon crawlers and creature-collecting games, Gloamvault combines both, offering engaging gameplay with virtually endless possibilities. There are hundreds of monsters to collect, which you can use to create new ones in all kinds of ways. Behind its nostalgic retro visuals lies an experience that has depth and complexity. Check it out now and see for yourself.
