Freeworld Apocalypse Portal is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that combines elements of both science fiction and fantasy. The world of Seregor is under attack from the destructive forces of the Void, and you and your allies must fight to free the realm. The game offers extensive character customisation without level caps.

Explore, defend or destroy

Freeworld Apocalypse Portal uses a skill-based development system for characters; instead of picking a class and then increasing your level within it, your actions improve the skills you use, a system that will be familiar to you if you've played the Elder Scrolls games. Similarly, all characters can use magic, although characters in heavy armour or who wield heavy weapons may find it more difficult. There are multiple character races to choose from, giving you a lot of options in character customisation. PvP combat is real-time and depends heavily on player skill, but players who want to avoid it can stick to PvE-only areas. The expansive world includes multiple strange planets to visit and realms to explore.

A game with potential

Freeworld Apocalypse Portal is a fsacinating idea, a combination of sci-fi and fantasy that's underrepresented in the MMO genre. Unfortunately, the game's servers have been closed since 2008 and new player signups are no longer being accepted. With no servers to play on or online player base, the game is effectively dead.
