Fight Crab is an action video game wherein you can prove yourself as the most powerful crab around. Developed by Calappa Games, this silly 3D physics-based sports game is an over-the-top PvP competitive title wherein you can take control of a crab and fight other crabs.

Similar to the developer’s other games—NEO AQUARIUM - The King of Crustaceans - and Ace of Seafood, Fight Crab features crustaceans that can wield weapons. Its hilarious premise makes it a memorable game but the controls and online multiplayer battles also make for a fun experience with both friends and strangers.

Is Fight Crab split-screen?

In Fight Crab, you control a crustacean of your choice—whether it’s one of the numerous crab species around or even a lobster—and wrestle with an enemy crustacean on an arena chock full of obstacles and interactive props. The game lets you fight by either using only your claws and pincers or wielding different weapons that you can purchase from the shop. You win if you flip them on their back.

What makes the game so ridiculously fun isn’t just the prospect of being a katana-wielding crab but also the gameplay physics. Whacking your claws around alone can jostle your enemy and so clobbering them with a huge weapon can either toss them into the air or make them do slow-motion somersaults. Even the arena can be decimated and the props there used as improvised weapons so the chaos never stops.

It has downsides, though. For one, the controls can be awkward and clunky—most especially when you have weapons on hand. Fights often boil down to simply who’s hitting the other the most to force them to flip. Another thing is that the online multiplayer mode hardly has active players for you to challenge. Fortunately, there are still local PvP and co-op modes. These are split-screen on the console version.

Still has solid fighting game mechanics

All in all, Fight Crab is a great and funny sports game to try out if you’re getting tired of all the human fighting games around. While the controls aren’t the best, they’re still part of what makes this game so charming and serious at the same time. You can even go toe-to-toe with other players—whether they be online or right beside you.
