It is an RPG adventure that takes inspiration from classic titles from the GameBoy Advance(GBA) era of handheld gaming. It boasts charming pixel graphics and deeply tactical turn-based combat that lets players plan out their moves.

Dream Tactics takes place in the Dream World, a surreal fantasy landscape that is in peril from the Dream Eater. You play as the unlike heroine Neru, and you will need to form a team of four heroes to stop this dark threat and save the world from utter collapse. Draw upon the magical powers of the Reverie to help you face hordes of pillow enemies on your dangerous quest.

Combat in this game is turn-based, letting you plan your attacks and take advantage of your team members' strengths in battle. Things get more interesting with each turn as your member gets a random set of cards to activate. There are over 100 cards to unlock and you can multiple ones in a single move to unleash devastating combos on enemies.

Take advantage of the unique terrain to outmaneuver enemies and gain a tactical advantage. You can also explore outside the grid to discover surprises and meet various characters to recruit to your mission. A few things do need more work, though, with one of them being the lack of a way to earn in-game money. Secondly, game balance issues are present, particularly, in item randomization and damage values.

To sum up, Dream Tactics is a charming and nostalgic RPG adventure with surprisingly deep combat mechanics, quirky characters, and retro visuals. Although it's far from being perfect given the issues mentioned above, it still offers a compelling experience that fans of these types of games will enjoy.
